Getting From the Airport/Union Station to the Hotel

The easiest way is to take a taxi. We're not just saying that because we're lazy and we take cabs everywhere. We're also saying it because we get commissions from Red Top Cab Company. Just kidding! If you do take a taxi and want to pay by credit card, please make sure that your cab driver takes credit card before you get in! From Reagan to the Westin Georgetown should be ~$20 and from Union Station to the Westin is ~$15. From Dulles to the Westin is anybody's guess, try about ~$60, but don't quote us on that.

If you're coming from Reagan Airport or Union Station (where Amtrak drops off), you can also take the local Metrorail train. The Metro is DC's version of the New York subway or the London Underground, clean and without big rats. There is a price for cleanliness. Do not eat or drink in the Metro. And if you do, don't call us to bail you out when the Metro police lock you up. We'll be at the alter, remember?

From Reagan, take the blue line train in the direction of Largo and transfer at Metro Center stop to the red line heading in the direction of Shady Grove. Get off at the Dupont Circle stop and start walking! Alternatively, you can take the yellow line in the direction of Georgia Avenue and transfer to the red line at the Chinatown metro stop. Proceed towards Dupont Circle.

From Union Station, take the red line train towards Shady Grove and get off at Dupont Circle. Start walking!

How We Met - Will's Perspective

So back in the Summer of 2002, I started work at Accenture in Reston Va. One early morning I was walking in the parking garage on my way into the Accenture office and from the corner of my eye I noticed a cute young Asian woman getting out of her car. So of course, I slowed down to see if she was also going to the Accenture building. Sure enough she was and as we both entered the building I struck up what seemed to be an innocent conversation. We didnt quite date after that, but did go to a Washington Wizards basketball game with a bunch of friends and she did invite me to her housewarming. But she soon left for Africa on a consulting assignment (circa 2004) so we simply lost touch.

She came back from Africa and we ran into each other at a company meeting in late August and I'm pretty sure I left a good impression. A few days later I received an email inviting me to a wine festival. Not sure what this meant, I stupidly replied and asked if she was bringing a date =P. Her response was... "Yea, his name is Will Chu or something". So we hit it off and decided to spend more time together, especially at Matchbox over a bottle of Cakebread (I cant drink that much anymore). We didnt get to see that much of each other as later that Fall, I was soon traveling to Lima, Peru and her to Seattle, WA. When I did come back, about every 3 weeks, we spent time together, altho there was a weekend she went to get a dog for her parents.

The new year was upon us and she told me she was going to Africa for her assignment. Wow, she's leaving me again! (not really) I was not about to let that happen so I decided to take a vacation and go Safari-ing in Africa. While West Africa is not as developed as East or South Africa, it was worth the trip. (see pics in our gallery)

Needless to say, we hit it off and the rest is history! You can read about the rest in "Breaking News: "
